Change the Default Directory for Installing Programs in Windows

Some users (including myself) like to install their programs or software in other drives instead of C:\Program Files in Windows. Each time you are trying to install a new application; you have to change the installation directory path manually. I will show you a simple trick to change the default directory (Program Files) for installing new applications in Windows, so you can install your software automatically to another address other than the Program Files in Windows.

1. Go to Start>Run>regedit and press the Enter.

2. Expand the path below.

3. In the right side of the registry editor window, double-click on ProgramFilesDir and enter your desired path or directory in Value Data section.

OK the widow and exit from the registry editor. After that you don’t need to change the installation directory each time.
