Microsoft See through 3D Desktop Project

Microsoft See through 3D Desktop is the name of the new Microsoft research project. It is a transparent screen that gives you the ability to interact with your desktop objects behind the screen. The research team used a Samsung transparent OLED screen and Kinect sensors to create a see through 3D desktop. It is a digital desktop with a depth that tracks your movement and you can move and sort desktop objects virtually behind the screen.

The research team is developing this desktop by using Kinect sensors. Kinect is a motion sensing input device made by Microsoft for Xbox 360 console and Windows PCS and can also track your head position and when you move your head, the screen changes the 3D perspective. This technology could be our next generation of computer interaction technologies very soon.
