Add Social Media Icons or Images to Your Email Signature

Some of you most probably know how to add a signature to your email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail etc. Today I intend to show how to add your social media icons or any images that you want in your email. When you add the icons like Facebook or Twitter on the footer of your mail as a signature, then whenever a receiver click on it, it will direct him/her to your Facebook or Twitter profile. The procedure is same for almost all email service providers (Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook…) so for this tutorial I used the Gmail and Yahoo as they are very popular among the users.

Step 1
First of all you have to host your icons or images in an image hosting website. I used the TinyPic website for uploading my icons. You can use any other website that you want. I’m not going to show you how to upload your images in the TinyPic and assume that everyone know how to do it. After uploading the icons, open the first icon, right-click on it and from the menu select Copy or Copy Image (to use in the Gmail, you need to select Copy Image Location).

Step 2
Sign in to your Gmail or Yahoo account, and then go to the mail Settings.

Step 3
Go to the Signature setup. In Gmail un-check the No Signature option and in Yahoo choose the Show a rich text signature.

Step 4
As you already copied the icon/image location in clipboard (step 1), for Gmail, hit the Insert Image icon. In the new opened window and in front of the Image URL, paste the image location (Ctrl+V). To get the image location, in step one instead of Copy Image, select Copy Image Location. Now Ok the window.

For Yahoo, in the step one, from the drop down menu, choose Copy or Copy Image and Past it inside the signature box.

Do the same process to add your other social icons to the email signature.

Step 5
The last step is to assign a link to each icon to your social media profiles. In both Gmail and Yahoo, simply select the icon (by clicking on it) and then hit the link icon on the menu bar of the signature box. Then enter the URL of your social media profile and Ok the window.

Do not forget to select the icon first before you click on the Link icon. Save and exit from the Settings. All done!
