Pop-up Robotic Bee (Mobee)

Pop-up Fabrication Bee or Mobee is a micro robot that designed and developed by students of the Harvard Microrobotics Laboratory. The Harvard Microrobotics Lab department researches on biologically inspired microrobots. These robots can be used for rescue operations, agriculture, environmental monitoring, etc.  Monolithic Bee (Mobee) is their latest design that has made from carbon fiber and plastic. Its wings are made of titanium that can move between 1 and 30 per seconds. As you can see in the image below, it has the size of a penny, an amazing job by Harvard students! This robotic insect formed via Printed Circuit MEMS techniques. You can learn more about these techniques here.
